biography
Simon Weinmann belonged to the students from the rural areas who attended Kissingen Realschule and, therefore, lived in the Franconian spa for a short time.
He was born in Middle Franconian Altenmuhr in the district of Weißenburg on June 5, 1881 as the son of the cattle dealer Bernhard Weinmann and his wife Marie, née Wimmelsbacher. He attended Kissingen Realschule since September 1894 when he entered class 3. During that time, he lived with Nathan Hamburger at Marktplatz. After only one school year, he left the school again in 1895 and got an education as a “tradesman”. According to information from the district administration of Gunzenhausen, he lived in Altenmuhr in 1909 after his marriage to Marie Mohr and since that time called himself Simon Bernhard. Their son Bernhard was born in October 1910 in Ingolstadt. Simon Weinmann’s further life is only patchily known. He was married a second time and had two children from his second wedlock.
Obviously, Simon Weinmann could emigrate to Argentine because there is a note in “JewishGen-Online-Register weltweiter Bestattungen (worldwide burials) (JOWBR) that he died in Rio Negro Valley (Argentine) in September 1936. His son who called himself Bernardo in Argentine, also lived in Argentine. He died in Buenos Aires in 1978 at the age of 68.
Simon’s younger brother Karl had also emigrated to Argentine with his family in 1937.
