Esther Zaidman, née Taubenblatt, lived and worked in Bad Kissingen for only one spa term. She was born in Nuremberg on November 23, 1916 as the daughter of the private tutor Israel Taubenblatt and his wife Malka, née Gelernter. Her parents came from what is now Poland and had married in Warsaw in 1903. In 1906, they had emigrated to Nuremberg. Esther had six siblings.

At the age of 18, she moved to Bad Kissingen for one spa season in June 1935 and was employed as a kindergarten teacher in the Israelite Children’s Sanatorium. In October 1935, she already left Bad Kissingen again and returned into her hometown.

Nearly all of Esther’s siblings could emigrate in time and survived the Nazi Era. Only her sister Sara, who had emigrated to the Netherlands, was deported and murdered in Sobibor. After Esther’s father had died in 1936, Esther emigrated to New York with her mother in July 1938. Malka Taubenblatt died there in 1961.

In December 1944, Esther Taubenblatt married Herbert Aaron in Brooklyn. The marriage was already divorced, however, in about 1950. She had one daughter with her second marriage to Marcus Mordechai Zaidman from Ukraine. Esther Zaidman then lived in the State of Ohio with her family; her husband died in September 1973 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio, USA. She outlived him by more than 30 years and died in the same place in April 2006 at the age of 89.
